Overview
Atrocity is a World of Warcraft Alliance raiding guild on the Frostwolf server. Many of our members have been playing since initial release, and in some cases well before. We, as with most guilds, strive to create a friendly environment that is conducive to raiding. Our raid times will vary a bit, but as a general rule they start between 6:00 and 6:30 and finish by 10:00 to 10:30 (server - PST). A full schedule can be found on our raiding practices page. Our player base skews older; the current average age is 26.
What makes us special?
Atrocity is unique in our scheduling. We have both firm start and stop times for our raids. When we are raiding we want everyone to be on the ball and moving. When it comes time to stop, we're done. 15 minute extensions are sometimes used if we are about to attempt a boss. We will also often designate one week a month as an "off week", wherein no official raids take place. Members are encouraged to take that week to relax. We feel these basic guidelines help prevent member burnout, and allow our members to enjoy the raiding experience more.
Our guild structure is also very "flat". Only those that actually need power are given any. There are no "token" officers or class captains. If someone is an officer, then they have a job to do.
What we expect
Specific member expectations can be found on our expectations page. In general we expect players to be very well versed in their chosen class, able to take difficulties in stride, and be intelligent. Solid skills in theorycrafting and addon usage will also be required. Beyond this all members should have very strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
What we're up to
Currently we are looking to fill a few remaining slots in our roster, and are continuing to knock out all 25-mans each week. Our goal is not to be #1 on the server in boss kills, but #1 on the server for boss kills compared to time played.
Why the name Atrocity?
It was available.
Why should you join?
Maybe you just recently renewed your account with the release of Wrath. Perhaps you're looking for a guild where proper grammar is the norm. Could you be sick of 6 hour raids? You could even be looking for a fun group of peeps to digitally chill with. We also have cake.
The various sections of our website should answer most remaining questions you may have. If you have any further questions feel free to message an officer in-game, and of course feel free to submit an application.
